Power Policy & Innovation Summit

Power Policy & Innovation Summit

The IEEE NSU Power & Energy Society (PES) Student Branch Chapter, in collaboration with the IEEE NSU Student Branch, IEEE NSU RAS Student Branch Chapter, IEEE NSU IAS Student Branch Chapter, IEEE NSU WIE Affinity Group, and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), North South University, is organizing the Power Policy & Innovation Summit (PPIS). This interactive national event brings together students, young innovators, industry leaders, professionals, and policymakers to collaborate, learn, and innovate with Bangladesh's energy landscape in mind.

The summit takes place on October 31, 2026, and features keynote sessions, a high-end panel discussion on power policy, an interactive quiz competition with a prize pool of 5,000 BDT, and the Grand Finale of the Power Policy Innovation Challenge (PPIC). Registration for both the summit and the challenge is done through this single form.

This year's Power Policy Innovation Challenge theme is "Rural and Community Grid Connects with the Microgrid." The challenge invites future energy leaders, researchers, and young innovators to identify pressing problems in Bangladesh's power sector and develop practical, affordable, technically feasible, and policy-oriented solutions. Teams should bridge the gap between technology and policy, balancing technical feasibility, economic viability, scalability, and real-world implementation. Solutions can draw on solar, wind, biogas, hydro, and battery storage, and may cover areas such as irrigation, community and urban energy systems, EV charging, agrivoltaics, and floating solar.

PPIC Prize Pool: 65,000 BDT (Champion: 30,000 BDT, 1st Runner-up: 20,000 BDT, 2nd Runner-up: 15,000 BDT)
